Rated 1 out of 5 by from Utter rubbish! The new design is CHEAP, TACKY & uses about 20% less cotton! The cotton is not soft either! I use to love your earbuds! They were thicker than other ones and felt good to hold as they where plastic! But now they are cheaply made and the paper handle is very hard to touch. The bud is also hard in your ear because of the little cotton on it and feels like it will get stuck easily! I will not be purchasing them anymore as there are cheaper brands just as good now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Aweful These used to be the best brand you could get they had soft cotton and strong design now they bend as soon as you try to use them so have no force to clean the desired area what so ever the cotton is hard i get that your helping the environment by changing design but they are now like the cheap and tacky cotton buds. That nobody ever buys they should save money and buy the cheaper ones instead

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I used to buy these over the cheaper brands as the blue plastic stick was so strong and sturdy. Now they've changed to a paper stick they just bend like all the others when you try to use them. I will just save my money and buy the cheaper brands from now on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a shame you have changed We would not use anything else until the change from blue stems to white . Great for the environment but unusable , will not be buying again

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the paper they’re now made with. Although i slightly agree with the reasoning behind the change, removing plastic from every little item isn’t a sustainable idea if all products become vastly inferior compared to their plastic predecessors. To get the same rigid structure we’re used to, you need to put 2 buds together which then don’t fit. Another thing, I’m sure consumers don’t appreciate having to pay the same amount for something that has surely become cheaper to manufacture, and is 80% less quality than a previous item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from That's why they are garbage! I googles to find out why these have gone from being the best to the worst I have ever bought, much worse than ever the unbranded ones from discount stores. I didn't realise the stalks had changed to paper. That must be why the cotton bud part comes off and gets stuck in my ear when wet! By the way, I never throw them in the sea. I live 100 miles from the sea, they all get collected with the unrecycled rubbish and burned in a district heating and power station furnace. J&J, go back to plastic in countries that don't dump rubbish in rivers and the sea and no more virtue signalling.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good I have used Johnson's cotton buds for years and thi d is the first time I've been really disappointed. I genuinely appreciate the effort to reduce plastic but these new paper sticks are useless. They bend almost instantly. There doesn't seem to be a lot of cotton on them either. I'm really disappointed. There has to be a recyclable, more durable alternative for the stick surely!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very disappointing!! I have been buying Johnston Cotton Buds for the last 27 years and up until recently there were fine. Now this new batch is awful with very little cotton on the bud and the blue stick has been replaced with a white stick that does not have the same strength and as soon as you start to use it the stick bends. I actually thought i had bought a cheap brand by mistake!! Very bad move to replace a good product with an awful one.
